Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Skin Renewal Treatment

Blemish-prone skin

A serum with 10% Hydroxy Complex that unclogs pores, visibly reduces blemishes and helps prevent their re-appearance.

An acid peel for blemish-prone skin

The innovative Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Skin Renewal Treatment has been specially formulated to reduce the appearance of pimples, papules and pustules as well as to fade blemish marks.

It is suitable for all mild to moderate forms of blemishes and has a triple effect:

  • The 10% Hydroxy Complex contains a highly effective combination of peeling agents − Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid and Polyhydroxy Acid – which help to resurface skin, unclog pores, reduce bacteria, remove dead skin cells and prevent new blemishes from appearing

The formula also contains Licochalcone A which has been proven to help reduce inflammations and skin irritations.

Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Skin Renewal Treatment starts to visibly improve skin after just one week, revealing clearer and smoother-looking skin over time.

Can be used during pregnancy but should not be used by patients undergoing medical  treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

If I use the serum daily when can I expect to see an improvement?

If used regularly skin will start looking better after just one week.

I’m over 30 and would like to use something that treats wrinkles. Is this serum suitable?

Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Skin Renewal Treatment combines very well with anti-ageing skincare. We recommend that you use it, in the evenings, alongside Eucerin Hyaluron Filler Night.

I have both acne-prone and sensitive skin. Can I use Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Resurfacing Treatment?

In principle, yes. But test the product first to ensure it is well tolerated by your skin. You can do this by using a small amount on a small area of skin and leaving it on overnight. If you experience a slight stinging sensation, don’t worry that just shows that the product is working.

Can I use the Skin Renewal Treatment alongside Benzoyl Peroxide, Antibiotics and blemish treatments with retinoids?

We do not recommend using the serum while you are undergoing medical treatment for acne.

Can I use this product on holiday in very sunny areas?

If the weather is excessively hot we recommend you stop using the treatment. And always be sure to wear sufficient sun protection. We recommend Eucerin Sun Gel-Creme Oil Control SPF50+.

If my skin looks red in the morning should I continue using this product overnight?

If your skin appears irritated we recommend that you stop using the product. Then try reapplying the product every other day (in the evening only). If irritation persists, consult your dermatologist or pharmacist.

Should I introduce the Skin Renewal Treatment slowly into my routine to help my skin get used to it?

We use a gentle combination of acids that makes the product suitable for use every evening from day one. As with all products, however, it is a good idea to test the product on a small area of your skin before applying it to your full face.

Do I need to use sun protection the day after applying this treatment?

We recommend that you use the product in the evening because its peeling effect will make your skin more sensitive to UV rays, and more prone to sunburn. And, even after evening use, it’s important you give your skin adequate protection from the sun the next day. We recommend Eucerin Sun Gel-Creme Oil Control SPF50+.

Why is the pH of the Eucerin DermoPurifyer Skin Renewal Treatment important?

The product’s pH plays an important role in its effectiveness and skin compatibility. Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Resurfacing Treatment has a pH of between 3.7 and 3.9. This low, mildly acidic pH is perfect for the role of this product as it increases its antibacterial effect and its ability to remove dead skin cells.

Can I use the serum in addition to my normal moisturiser and, if so, which should I use first?

Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Resurfacing Treatment can be used alongside other care products such as moisturisers and anti-ageing treatments. We recommend that you use the Resurfacing Treatment first and in the evening. If you use the Skin Renewal Treatment in the morning be sure to follow with a sunscreen such as Eucerin Sun Gel-Creme Oil Control Dry Touch SPF50+.

This product contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and the possibility of sunburn. As a result, we recommend you limit your exposure to the sun while using this product and for a week after. During that period, and after, be sure to apply sun protection in the morning. Try Eucerin Sun Gel-Creme Oil Control SPF50+.

Apply glycolic acid cream once a day

Recommendations for your daily skincare routine

Cleanse your skin before using glycolic acid cream

Cleanse skin in the morning and evening:

  • am: to remove the sebum and dead skin cells that have accumulated overnight
  • pm: to remove make-up and free skin from the day’s dirt

Use gentle cleansing products such as Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Cleansing Gel with lukewarm water and follow with an appropriate toner. You may also benefit from using a scrub once a week to unclog pores and refine skin texture.

We do not recommend using an alcohol-based toner and the scrub alongside medication for blemished skin as Isotretinoin, Benzoyl Peroxide and Antibiotics can make skin more sensitive. If you like the refreshing feel of a toner, try the alcohol-free Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Micellar Water instead.

Apply acid peel after cleansing and toning

"The care product you use depends on the severity of your acne/blemish-prone skin and on the type of treatment you are undergoing.

If you are using medical treatment for acne Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Adjunctive Soothing Cream helps to alleviate some of the side effects such as intense dryness. It should be applied five minutes after your medication so the treatment can absorb fully.

If you have mild to moderate blemishes, but are not undergoing medical  treatment, use a soothing and mattifying moisturiser such as Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Mattifying Fluid in the morning and evening.

For clearer and smoother-looking skin over time, you may also like to incorporate our skin renewal treatment into your routine. It is suitable for all blemish-prone skin that is not undergoing medical  treatment and should be used once a day only − ideally in the evening. You can use it before the mattifying fluid or on its own.

Use sun protection after your glycolic acid cream for acne-prone skin

Sun protection is an important step in your daily routine. Blemishes can cause pigmentation issues if over-exposed to the sun, and acne medications can make blemish-prone skin even more sensitive to UV rays. Eucerin Sun Gel-Creme Oil Control SPF50+ offers the levels of protection that your skin needs and should be applied before your cover-up and make-up. If you’re applying sun protection after a topical acne treatment wait five minutes to allow the treatment to fully absorb.

Apply concealer before or after your make-up

Cover blemishes and even out skin tone with foundation and/or a concealer. Choose products that are non-comedogenic (i.e. that will not block pores) and, ideally, ones that contain ingredients that work to improve the condition of blemish-prone skin. Be sure to remove all make-up before you go to bed. Find out more in make-up for blemish-prone skin.
