Addressing climate change requires collective action. As part of Beiersdorf, Eucerin supports efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contributes to the company's long-term climate ambition.
Our parent company Beiersdorf has set climate targets for 2030 and a group-level Net Zero target by 2045, which have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)*. These targets are aligned with climate science and the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. Under this commitment, Beiersdorf aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 35% by 2030 and by 90% in absolute terms across its value chain by 2045. As a Beiersdorf brand, Eucerin contributes to these efforts through measures aimed at reducing emissions across the value chain.
Examples of how we reduce our environmental footprint are as individual as our products and formulations. Most commonly, Eucerin reduces greenhouse gas emissions while ensuring uncompromised skin performance by:
Our transparent bottles are made of up to 98% recycled PET (excluding label and cap) and reducing 16% packaging related CO2e emissions (when using a 400ml recycled PET bottle compared to a 400ml virgin PET bottle).
Our new Hyaluron-Filler refills for our Hyaluron-Filler jars use 90% less plastic compared to the conventional Hyaluron-Filler jars and thereby reduce packaging related CO2e emissions by 85%.
*The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) independently assesses and validates whether a company's greenhouse gas emission reduction targets are aligned with climate science and the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C.
