Eucerin announces Skin Health Alliance accreditation for its Anti-Pigment range

Eucerin is proud to announce that its Anti-Pigment range has been awarded an official accreditation by the Skin Health Alliance, certifying the market leading product range’s skin tolerability and efficacy, effective from 1st March 2022.

The Skin Health Alliance is an independent body that provides dermatological accreditation to leading brands across the skincare and personal care sector, giving consumers confidence in their purchases with the reassurance that products have been independently verified as skin safe. Working with a specialist panel of dermatologists and skincare experts, Eucerin’s Anti-Pigment range was screened through a scientific review to ensure each product in the range met a series of safety and efficacy criteria, including ensuring the ingredients and formulations comply with international regulatory standards in those markets where its sold.

The Eucerin Anti-Pigment range, formulated with breakthrough patented ingredient Thiamidol, was first launched in 2019 and has since grown to become the UK’s No.1 Hyperpigmentation Range1 on the market. In a quest to find an active that would both reduce hyperpigmentation whilst being kind on skin, Eucerin conducted an extensive screening of over 50,000 compounds when it discovered Thiamidol.

Thiamidol, or to give it its chemical name isobutylamido thiazolyl resorcinol, acts at the root cause of hyperpigmentation by reducing the production of natural skin pigment melanin in our skin. It gets to work by blocking the enzyme ‘tyrosinase’ which, in turn, reduces the melanin production in the skin to combat hyperpigmentation. With regular use, Thiamidol has been proven to show a visible reduction in pigmentation by up to 75%2.

“At Eucerin, we pride ourselves on our ground-breaking skin research and ingredient innovation. With Thiamidol, we knew we had discovered something special and life changing for those who suffer with hyperpigmentation conditions. This accreditation adds an additional layer of credibility and reassurance for our customers that not only are the products skin safe, but that they actually work too,” says Alex Gostling, Pharmacy Director for UK & ROI at Beiersdorf.

The accreditation covers the following products:
