The Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Concealer Stick is an concealer with Salicylic Acid proven to both reduce and cover pimples and blackheads. It smoothly covers blemishes and evens out skin while reducing pimples and unblocking clogged pores. The concealer can be used alongside medical treatment for blemished skin and is also safe for use during pregnancy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I cover up the dark circles under my eyes with the Concealer Stick?

We don’t recommend that you use Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Concealer Stick in your eye area because it contains Salicylic Acid which has a keratolytic effect and which could cause sensitivity in the eye area.

Does the Concealer Stick block pores?

No. The Concealer Stick is non-comedogenic which means it does not contain any substances that might contribute to the formation of blackheads or spots. The same is true for all products in the Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control range.

Should I use the Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Concealer Stick before or after make-up?

You can, of course, use the Concealer Stick without applying make-up. However, if you are using it in combination with foundation you should apply the Concealer Stick first. You can use it again after you make-up, and re-apply it during the day, as/when additional coverage is required.

Recommendations for your daily skincare routine

The care product you use depends on the severity of your blemished skin and on the type of treatment you are undergoing.

If you are using medical treatment for blemished skin, Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Adjunctive Soothing Cream helps to alleviate some of the symptoms such as intense dryness. It should be applied five minutes after your medication so the treatment can absorb fully.

If you have mild to moderate blemishes, but are not undergoing medical treatment, use a soothing and mattifying moisturiser such as Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Mattifying Fluid in the morning and evening.

For clearer and smoother-looking skin over time, you may also like to incorporate our skin renewal treatment into your routine. It is suitable for all blemish-prone skin that is not undergoing medical treatment for blemished skin and should be used once a day only − ideally in the evening. You can use it before the mattifying fluid or on its own.

Cleanse skin in the morning and evening:

  • am: to remove the sebum and dead skin cells that have accumulated overnight
  • pm: to remove make-up and free skin from the day’s dirt

Use gentle cleansing products such as Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Cleansing Gel with lukewarm water and follow with an appropriate toner. You may also benefit from using a scrub once a week to unclog pores and refine skin texture.

We do not recommend using an alcohol-based toner and the scrub alongside medication for blemished skin as Isotretinoin, Benzoyl Peroxide and Antibiotics can make skin more sensitive. If you like the refreshing feel of a toner, try the alcohol-free Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control Micellar Cleansing Water instead.

Sun protection is an important step in your morning routine. Blemishes can cause pigmentation issues if over-exposed to the sun, and medications can make blemish-prone skin even more sensitive to UV rays. Eucerin Sun Gel-Creme Oil Control Dry Touch SPF30 and SPF50+ offers the levels of protection that your skin needs and should be applied before your cover-up and make-up. If you’re applying sun protection after a topical treatment for blemished skin wait five minutes to allow the treatment to fully absorb.

DermoPurifyer Oil Control Effective skin care products for blemish-prone skin

Acne is primarily an inflammatory disease. Inflammation is present at all stages of blemished skin − ranging from non-visible micro-inflammation to visibly inflamed papules and pustules 1

The Eucerin DermoPurifyer Oil Control range has been specially formulated to work against the main causes of blemish-prone skin:

micro-inflammation: the root cause of the acne cycle
excess sebum production which is also known as seborrhea
hyperkeratosis (a thickening of the external layers of skin) which then leads to blackheads and whiteheads
bacterial growth which leads to visible inflammation in the form of papules and pustules
The formulas include:

  •  Licochalcone A: a highly effective anti-inflammatory that soothes irritations and helps to reduce redness
  •  Salicylic Acid: an antibacterial ingredient with a comedolytic effect that reduces blemishes and prevents them from re-appearing
  •  Sebum-regulating technology: reduces sebum production

The DermoPurifyer Oil Control Resurfacing Treatment also contains:

10% Hydroxy Complex: a highly effective combination of peeling agents (Glycolic-, Salicylic- and Polyhydroxy Acids) that helps to resurface skin, unclog pores, reduce P. blemishes (bacteria) and remove dead skin cells
The range includes mild but effective cleansers and a selection of care products specially formulated for blemish-prone skin many of which are suitable for use alongside medical treatment for blemished skin.

Clinical and dermatological studies prove that the products are compatible with blemish-prone skin and very effective at treating and relieving symptoms
